It was a cool day in June... 6am found the anglers slightly bundled up and ready for blast off !!! (later that day I found out how rough blast off really was ) with a tiny little breeze riffling the water the National Anthem broke the silence of a beautiful morning.... And they were off. weigh in came and the story of the day was quite obvious... either big fish or small fish ... I don't think I weigh more than two fish between 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 pounds ... they were 1 lb or 5 lbs. . . after a great weigh in the grill was burnin and the burgers and dogs went fast... all the trimmins and cold drinks made for a great end to the day.... Well almost the end... we handed out over $4000.00 in prize money and held a great raffle also..... The highlight reel had a couple great bonus clips !!! First was the great youth payout provided by Kaye Drerup, Aaron Grant's Mom... She gave $100.00 to go to the youth that participated in the event in memory of Aaron's Birthday ...
Second came $100.00 From Tom Grant at Grants petroleum in memory of his son. It was given to the lowest weight in the tournament !!! What a great bonus for an unexpecting team !!!
The third came at the end of the raffle when we drew the ticket for a $400 trollling motor... the raffle money went to the IBFN State Youth Program and when Glen Ainsworth was drawn as the winner he said ... " Auction it off and lets raise some more money for the kids !!! WOW !!! So away we went,, $50 - $ 75 - $95 - $100 - $115 -- And there it was Harold Vaughn kicked in $115.00 for the kids !!!
WHAT A GREAT EVENT !!!
Thanks To all those that helped make it a sucess ...
Kaye Drerup, Tom Grant, Julie, John, Gary, Chris, Stacy, AND OF COURSE...
